Tomorrow I’ll be Gone

Discovery of Place, Self & Style

Photography means a lot of things to me. Above all it’s a manifestation of the creative visions I have in my head. As a result I’ve always wanted to create images that were truly me, in a place not visited by many other photographers.

In late 2023 I found that place. Not far from home either. The first time I went, I wasn’t sure what to make of it but the more I explored the more it revealed. Especially in different seasons. The change in colour and conditions evoking different feelings of place, while creating in different mental (physical states) tapping into the emotional side of being there.

For a long time, I approached making images while under the assumption that the image may never present itself again or I wouldn’t be able to visit the place again. Landscapes change, trees get blown down in storms, access becomes restricted or health doesn’t allow you to do what you are used to. Having somewhere like this nearby, gave me a chance to understand and connect with place in a way I had never experienced before. Maybe I will have moved on in a few years or maybe a different place will have captured my imagination in a way this one has. I wanted to make the most of this one before the inevitable change happens.

This collection is the first release of images from this place, with plenty more in the pipeline.
