The landscapes of the Scottish Highlands & Islands of Scotland are the closest we have to wilderness. You don’t have to venture far from the road to find yourself alone and fully immersed in nature. The wildness of these landscapes presents in other ways: majestic mountain ranges, ancient Caledonia woodlands, sweeping sandy beaches and some pretty wild weather.
As a photographer, it’s a place where it’s easy to feel humbled and inspired at the same time. I have a very deep connection to Scotland as it’s one part of my heritage. Every time I make new work in Scotland, I feel there is a part of me in each image.
