Image, Portfolio & Project Reviews
Self-critique of your landscape and nature images can be hard, especially when looking at them involves a deep connection. Having a second set of eyes on your work can identify areas for improvement, that may otherwise have gone unnoticed.
These online critique sessions are designed to give you constructive feedback, ideas and inspiration to elevate your photography. During the session we can discuss anything from the composition to ways post-processing could affect your image.
Sessions last for 90 minutes.

90 MINUTE SESSION | £85.00 | BESPOKE FEEDBACK
HOW IT WORKS
These image critique sessions are fully private. The emphasis is on reviewing your images in an environment free of external influences. You will not only be provided with honest feedback relating to the pictures you submitted, but also ideas and concepts that can be used to develop your imagery creatively.
IMAGE SELECTION
Prior to the review you will be asked to submit a selection of images that you want to analyse. Usually up to 5-10 images can be covered during the course of the meeting, depending on the level of critique involved.
DURING A REVIEW SESSION
Image Review
During the session we will analyse each of the images you submitted, breaking it down by what works and what doesn’t. Then we will look to how they can be improved both during post-processing and in the field. We will look at elements such as concept, visual flow, composition, distractions, subject matter and colour just to name a few.
Portfolio Review
Building on reviewing the technical and aesthetic components of your images, we will look at your portfolio as a whole and how it presents as a cohesive body of work.
Project Review
In a project we will start off by looking at the individual images before delving into how they work as part of your project. Will will discuss the project concepts and influences and how the work you have created relates to these ideas.
Getting to know you
As these discussions are focussed on reviewing your work and guiding your photography, I will always take a few minutes to get to know you and your vision for your work. Having this insight, and why you shoot the subject matter you do, will allow me to direct the feedback in a more tailored fashion. I feel this is a key component to understanding your work, and the primary reason I offer a 90 minute session for the first review.
Active Participation
During the sessions I encourage active participation and discussion. One of the goals of the workshop is to enable you to look at your images in a more critical way and this best achieved by making part of the critique an active discussion.
Moving forward
Towards the end of the session we discuss the images as a whole and look at some ideas to take forward for next time you are out shooting or editing. You will also receive a full recording of the review that you can use for reference purposes.
