Landscape & Nature Photography
My imagination is vivid. I am constantly dreaming up ideas; some of them truly bizarre. Representing the visions that circulate my mind has never been easy task. Though I always found that I was limited in my creative expression, I excel technically. The camera is the perfect tool to translate my visions into a physical manifestation and express my creativity, allowing the viewer to step into my mind and see what I felt.
Landscapes are there to get lost in, seek solitude in, ignite the imagination and offer a sense of mystery. This is the feeling I get every time I step into one, especially a new one. The imagination factory in overdrive. I am inherently drawn to the vastness (the more remote and adventurous the better) they offer but also the more intimate natural beauty that is sometimes less obvious – telling the whole story of a location.
I enjoy creating images that allow the viewer to formulate their own connection through my experiences.
This is my story!
Originally from South Africa, I currently live in north Wales in the United Kingdom, pretty much on the doorstep of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park/Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri. Full of dramatic mountain landscapes, woodland, waterways and rugged coastlines. An amazing place to be a photographer who loves nature, the landscape and some climbing too. Most of my work focusses on the areas close to me but my desire to travel and discover new places has taken me to many other places. The mountains of Scotland and the vast open landscapes of southern Africa hold a special place. I find that travelling to new destinations insprires creative thought and can give me new perspectives of how to shoot in my local landscape.
